When you run across a good leftover recipe that makes the food look even better than it tastes, it's a Sood idea to add another card to the recipe box. The last pieces of a baked ham, for instance, don’t always need to 20 into a salad or sandwich spread or a casserole dish.

8 ” » GOLDEN HAM BRAID INGREDIENTS: One and onehalf c. sifted flour; one-half c. yellow cornmeal; one tsp. baking powder; one-half tsp, salt; one tsp. dry mustard; one-half ec. shortening; one-half c. milk; two ¢. ground cooked ham; one c. cooked rice; one-fourth c¢. chopped green pepper, and one can cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup, METHOD: 8ift flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt and mustard together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse erumbs. Add milk, mixing lightly only until mixture is dampened. Roll out on lightly floured board io form rectangle about one-fourth fnch thick. Place on baking sheet. Then combine ham, rice, green pepper and one-half ¢. of the condensed soup. Place in center of rectangle. “Cut déugh in one-inch strips from filling to edge. Lace strips together over filling mixture. Bake in a hot oven (425 degrees F.) 15 to 20 minutes. Dilute remaining soup with onethird c¢. milk, heat and serve
