John Dennis, retired construction contractor and lifelong In-
dianapolis resident, died yesterday in General Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday. He was 80. In failing health the past several years, Mr. Dennis lived alone

there 14 years. Mr. Dennis, who was a bachelor, operated his construction firm from offices at Buchanan and Greer Sts. before his retirement

of the Methodist Church. Services at 2 p. m, tomorrow in the Bert 8, Gadd Funeral Home will be followed by burial in Crown Hill. 3 Surviving are seven nephews, Clarence E., Earl H. Ralph E. and Walter D. Flick and Fred Shafer, all of Indianapolis; Walter Shafer, Detroit, Mich., and Albert Shafer, Seattle, Wash.; and six nieces, Miss Ruth M. Flick, Mrs. Charles W. ment Co., will held at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow in Fanner & Buchanan Mortuary. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery. Mr. Babcock died Wednesday in his home, 6113 Haverford Ave, Charles V. Mescall, Mrs, Hubert Beatty and Mrs. Gus Bisesi, all of Indianapolis.

Auburn 8t., will be held at 3 p. m. tomorrow in Moore Mort Ben Davis Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburg. He was 46. His wife, Mrs, Mary Elizabeth McDaniel, told sheriff's deputies he had been despondent. A shotgun was found beside the body.
