é 9 Ship ‘Deserts SEOUL, Korea, May 13 (UP)— An American-made Korean Republic mine sweeper has deserted and sailed into a port in Sovietsupported North Korea with 39 men aboard, the Ministry of National Defense announced today. The announcement confirmed a North Korean radio report last night which claimed that the YMS 508 salled into the North Korean port of Wonsan May 12. : The 260-ton ship was the flagship of Cmdr. Hwan Gun S800, in charge of a coast patrol. The vessel's skipper was identified as Lt. Cmdr. Lee Ki Chong. The ministry said the loyalty of both the officers was unquestioned and speculated that both had been killed or taken prisoner.
