Poison in Coffee Seen Possible Cause

Dorothy May Trowbridge, Wheatland, whom police think may have died of poison put in coffee by her brother. Mrs, Trowbridge died Monday after several weeks’ {liness. She drank some coffee later found to contain rat poison. Her brother, Harold Pace, 18, now in Indiana State Prison for the Criminally

poison in the coffee. Authorities saysthe youth admitted that he put the poison in the drink but that he intended it for his father, Ed Pace. The boy thought his father had chastised him too severely, Sheriff Francis Thomas said. Suffered Relapse Both Mrs. Trowbridge and her husband drank some of the coffee to show Mr. Pace that his suspicion of his son was unfounded, Sheriff Thomas said. Both became ill but recovered. Mrs. Trowbridge suffered a relapse, however, about three weeks ago. She.was brought to the IU Medical Center when doctors were unable’ to determine the nature of her illness.
