CIO Rightists Act to Regain Union Control

Leaders to Map Convention Fight At Dayton Caucus

By EDWIN A LAHEY Times Special Writer WASHINGTON, May b5—The left-wing leadership of the CIO's third largest affiliate, the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers, is entering a critical period of wage negotiations with the tide of rank and file rebellions at an all-time high. The right-wing caucus of the 600,000-member union now says it represents locals comprising 280,000 members.

The caucus will meet Saturday and Sunday at Dayton, O, to map a new attempt to recapture control of the union at the international convention, which will be held in Cleveland in September, Carey to Attend James B. Carey, CIO secretary, who lost control of the electrical workers in 1940, will
