He was sent overseas in June, 1944. He served in the Second Army as a member of the “Hell on Wheels” Division. . In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Vernon R. Pinkston, who served as
corporal in the Eighth Bomber
Command, England, and Patrick Pinkston; a sister, Miss Maude Ellen Pinkston, and a grandmother, Mrs. Maude Butler Wickersham.
