offices in next year's primary.

In the Republican camp at least five factions are sparring behind the scenes for an opening to grab + control of the organization and the results of this free-for-all may not be apparent until votes are counted for the nominees in

" the 1950 primary. Control Clouded

Official GOP control is now In _. the hands of associates who put James W. Ingles into the county] chairmanship back in December, 1047. But the extent of this control is clouded deeply by ngisy groups demanding Mr. Ingles

resignation.

These include the GOP Precinct Committeemen’s group héadéd by Don R. Money and the Republican War Veterans headed by

Charles Brownson.

Then, there is Republicans United, headed by Eugene Fife Jr. This group has taken over some of the former -¥egular organiza-

tion workers.

In the background of -all these are the factions sfill aligned) closely with associates of James - L. Bradford, former county chair-| man and another powerful clique | that defeated the GOP regulars with ex-Sheriff Al Magenheimer and ex-Prosecutor Judson L.
