Parmesan cheese. 2 slices bacon Make sweet roll dough using one cup scalded milk. When luke-
atv warm, add one-half cake compressed yeast crumbled in onefourth cup water to soften. Add one and one-fourth cups all-pur-pose flour, beat hard, then add two tablespoons melted shorten ing and one-half teaspoon salt, one-fourth cup sugar and one small egg, beaten. Again beat thoroughly. Work in about two cups more of all-purpose’ flour. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise until double in bulk—about one and one-fourth hours. Roll out in circular form to fit into a 9-inch pie. plate having dough thinner in bottom of plate and thicker at rim like pie crust. Peel onions, slice very thin. Baute-them inthe butter until soft. Cool. Beat flour and eggs together. Arrange onions in pie. Pour ‘egg mixture over top, sprinkle with salt, nutmeg and cheese. Bake in a moderately hot oven (400 degrees F.) from 30 to 35 minutes. Have bacon broiled until golden and crisp. Crumble and sprinkle over top the last five minutes of cooking. Serve hot. Serves four or five.
