Post Office Warns Of Fraud Scheme

Order Cites Obscene

Literature Promoter

The Postoffice Department] warned its patrons today of a “fraud” scheme operated by a Paris, France; resident in violation of the U. 8. postal laws. Inspector James J. Doran said the operator, Eric R. Ottenson, 52, Rue des Vinaigriers; has advertised obscene literature for sale in the United States although importation of the material is prohibited. The purpose of the .enterprise, Mr. Doran said, is to have persons the advertisement deposit money with a bank in New York to the credit of the advertiser, who will then send the material to this country. A fraud order has been issued against Ottenson, the inspector said, and all mail addressed to him is being returned to the send-

eral. Letters received from Ottensen should be destroyed, he added, to prevent them from falling into the hands of persons unaware of the fraud.
