BACK TO THE BIBLE!

| By W. L. Latham Pastor of the South Side Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Corner of Orange and’ Laurel Sts.

Christ The God Man For those who accept the Bible , ~ as the inspired word of God, there is abundant proof that Christ was both human and divine: that He existed as the second person of the Godhead before being born of woman: “Let this mind be in you, which was aso in “Christ- Jesus: ‘Who, being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as man, he Humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Phil. 2:5-8. Being the Son of God, He of necessity partook of the divine nature, and is referred to as God: “They shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matt, 1:23 (Heb. 1:8; Jude 1:25, étc.) . It, was Christ, the second person of the Godhead, that created this world, for we read, “He was In the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came untd his own, and his own received him not.” John 1:10, 11. ‘(See Eph. 3:9; Col. 1:13-19; Heb. 1:2). While here among men Christ's divinity was often manifest as He, by the power of his almighty word, stilled the storm, cleansed the leper, healed the sick, cast out devils and raised the

dead. hn Christ was as_ truly human as divine: “Forasmuch then as. the children are of flesh and blood, he also himselt likewise ook part of THE SAME; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;—Wherefore IN ALL THINGS it behooved ‘him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.” Heb.

_of human nature, Christ knows how to with you and me: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was IN ALL POINTS tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb. 4:15, 16, Friend, It will COST you but remember It cost the Bon of God Infinitely more to make your satvation: -“Phough-he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being. made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation « unto all them that OBEY Him.” Heb. 5:8, 9. Then to be ’ «saved, we must OBEY Him. ‘ Christ sald, “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and DO NOT the things which I say?” Luke 6:46. . Jesus has given us the blessed assurance: “Him that cometh

told that, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” .1 John. 1:9. Therefore, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isa 85:7. My return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy.upon him: and friend, will you do it? Will you accépt Him now, just as you are? He longs to save you. He declares, “I have loved i with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee” Jer. 31:3.
