providing the spice.
Season records of each team will go in opposite directions on the Blue Devil floor since both clubs are sporting two victories in four
games to date. The Blue Devils| — dropped a 61-to-43 verdict at South Side last year. Ft. Wayne carries scoring punch in stocky Doug Lawrence, Borde also a grid star, who led the Archers to victory last week over South Bend Washington which had won five straight. Big Bill

“The four-team tourney at Tech
between Howe, Tech, Washington
and Broad Ripple will top three other contests billed tomorrow, headed” by the Sacred Heart- s Manual rivalry at the South Side _Armory. Interest in the four-team tourney was jacked up to a highquality level last night when Washington overcame its defeatgrogginess to lace Cathedral, 46
to 42, at the Irish gym.
* The victory, Washington's first in five games, was more decisive than the score indicated and showed the Continentals’ green team may have suddenly found
itself, Purple Has Splurge
A great fourth quarter splurge sent the count from 27 to 23 at the start of the period to 45 to 29|
within four minutes.
Winfield Dittemore made all three of his fielders in that period and received help from steady George Theofanis, who led Washington with 14 points, and- Bob “Crittenden. After Coach Daveé| Smith, Hine removed the regulars, Cathedral gobbled up all but four points of the margin in the final]
four minutes,
The Irish, who lost their second tilt in six games, piled up a 11-to-5 lead in the first period before Theofanis led his mates to an 18-/iin all deadlock at the rest stop. Don Roeder got 12 points to lead Cathedral while Mike Radkovic

By DON SIEBERT An ‘increasing number of entries in the city-wide Times Mixed Doubles Championship Handicap Tournament were being turned in
at the city’s 22 alleys today.
Del England of Speedway alleys reports more than 40 entries and at least that number have _been n received in other bowling
houses. The tourney, which is scheduled for Jan. 8-9, is unusual since bowlers are required to pay no entry fee. They pay only $1.80 per team to roll the three games which will be each team’s participation in the event. Bowlers wishing to enter the tournament may fill out the entry
blank at the bottom of this column and take it to the bowling
alley of their choice. Entry deadline is Jan. 7

A recent survey by the ABC reveals that early evening bowling throughout the U.S. is easily the most popular with keglers.
