bles of this world,” said a college professor recently, “is that it regards love as a Juxury. Nearly everybody is starved for love. Yet too many people look on -it as something that must be kept strongly in check.” To love everybody is a wonderful goal, of course. If everybody loved everybody else, we'd certainly have no wars or murders or mudslinging or dish-throwing. But it's a tough goal to reach—you can't just turn love on and off like a spigot— and there'd be complications, too. As a matter of fact, even | to like everybody you happen to meet, psychiatrists point out, is pretty nearly impossible—nobody can get to know everybody well enough, even ‘for that,

IF YOU can’t warm up to a man and don’t know why; | it may be just because he happens to walk like cousin Elmer, whom you dislike (without realizing why) because he breezed through school with such high marks when you were kids together. Often as not, we're really disliking images in our minds, which we associate with some unlucky individual, who then gets the brunt of it. It's all very silly and illogical of course; but that's the strange way we're put together.
