The South was next in line with an increase of 9.35 per cent followed by the ‘Rocky Mountains with 6.30, The Midwest with 3.78 and the East with 1.74. The Far West just managed to better last year’s figures, showing a net increase of {less than one-third of one per feent. A total of 13,051,248 persons |saw the 487 home games of the 199 colleges covered in the survey an average attendance of 26,799 persons per contest. In 1947, the same colleges played a. total of
