her home there, was to be buried]
today in Fairview. Cemetery after services at 2 p. m. in the Welch Funeral Home, Linton. She was 87. The widow of Dr. Elmer T. Sherwood, she was the mother of Elmer W, Sherwood, Indianapolis public relations executive and former adjutant general of IndiPioneer Worker
Mrs. BHerwood was a pioneer in woman's suffrage in Indiana, and maintained an active interest in government all her life. She was a militant worker for rights for the underprivileged, and was instrumental in obtaining the first public library in Linton. She was a member of the Fastern Star, the Indiana Federation of Women’s Clubs, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Woman's Relief Corps and other societies, and a graduate of Meron (Ind.) College. . Her son, Elmer Sherwood, is head of Sherwood Associates, public relations counselors. She also is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edith Hangar, Linton.
