Farm Aid Finds Barberry Bush
Plant Discovered In Perry Township
Common barberry, a plant which sp the black-stemmed wheat rust,/has been discovered in Perry Township, Stanley Castell, agricultural agent of Purdue University said today. The barberry, Mr. Castell said, spreads the disease which causes extensive wheat crop damage each year. Growth of ‘the bush in Perry Township was discovered by Thomas Paddock, Southport High School student, on ‘a farm near Glenns Valley.
