Survey Indicates Prices on all dairy products except eggs have dropped markedly during the last two months, 2 survey of more than 20 cities including Indianapolis, ' showed today. The survey, made by United Press and The Times, showed that from Sept. 26 to Nov. 24, the average price of milk has de-creased*three-tenths of a cent per quart, butter 6.3 cents a pound, margarine 3.3 cents' a pound. and] American cheese 3.1 cents a pound. Leading milk companies in In-| dianapolis this morning were un-{ certain about the trend of milk] prices. They said any change in price would be governed by the price set for Grade B (4 per cent) milk at the condensing plants Nov. 30. The trend in Central Indiana has been toward strong winter milk prices, a spokesman for one of the largest dairies sad. ; Premiums Offered Dairies pay $1.35 a hundred pounds over the condensary price. On top of this there are two premiums offered in Indiana to encourage the production of winter milk. : The dairies pay an average of 25 cents a hundred for Grade A milk to encourage winter production and in the last half of the year processors added another 23| cents a hundred premium. | There was little immedate pros-| pect, insofar as dairy leaders tnew, of another drop in the price |
