Research Group Will Serve 2 Years On Advisory Body

Dr. Maynard K. Hine, dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry, has accepted a twoyear appointment to the National Advisory Dental Researc: Council created in the U. 8. Public Health Service by the 80th Congress, The 12-member council will conduct research into the cause,

prevention and methods of treat-|

ment of dental diseases. It also will promote co-ordina-tion of dental research and pass upon applications from universities and hospitals for grants-in-aid for dental research, training and instruction. Meetings in Washington The appointment will not conflict with Dean Hine’s administration of the dental school but will require his presence at council meetings in Washington, D. C. Membership in the council includes the Surgeon General of the U, 8. Public Health Service, chief medical officer of the Veterans Administration, the Surgeon General of the Navy and the 12 appointed members. The act of the 80th Congress appropriated $750,000 annually, beginning July 1, 1949, for grants and other duties of the council and for the erection of a building to house the group.

_ Father Finds Two Tots . Stabbed to Death

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 25 (UP) «Mrs. Margaret Harper of suburban St. Louis Park was held under observation today on suspiction of murdering her two infant children with a hunting knife, Mrs. Harper's husband, Harry, returned home from work last night and found his son, George, 2, and daughter, Margaret, five months, stabbed to death with a hunting knife. A third child, Harry D. III, 5, was at his grandparents’ home at the time. Coroner Russell R. Heim said Mrs. Harper suffered a nervous breakdown about a month ago but apparently had recovered.

City Sends Two Tons Of Clothing to Europe

Two tons of clothing, including 750 suits and overcoats given by Indianapolis men for the needy of Europe, are on their way east for shipment abroad. The clothing, together with garments for women and children, were collected and shipped as a Thanksgiving expression of local

families. The wearing apparel was collected by the churches under the sponsorship of the Indianapolis Church Federation. It will be distributed by World Church Service.
