Ling Accused - 0f Grand Larceny

Ex-Hospital Aid Out on $1000 Bond

Charges of grand larreny have been formally placed against Frank L. Ling, former assistant superintendent of General Hospital, accused of disposing of 15 hospital sterilizers for personal gain, The charges were filed in Criminal Court 1 by the prosecutor's office. Mr. Ling was released on bond of $1000 pending the trial date. The defandant is charged with selling the sterilizers to a surgical supplies salesman for $20 each. The salesman is said to have sold them to doctors for $50 each. The sterilizers, bought by the hospital for $2 apiece as war surplus, were valued at $100 each. The prosecutor’s office also filed similar charges against James A. Allen Jr., former hospital janitor, ascused of helping Ling in the eft,

Times State Service BLOOMINGTON, Nov. 25—Parons of the Monroe County schools, whose protests against the inadequacies of the rural structures resulted in a grand jury investigation, today were accused of passing the buck when it comes to testifying. Prosecutor Robert F. McCrea, who is directing the probe, verifiled a report that parents who protested they wanted something done now are unwilling to come forward to say just what they expect or recommend. Having visited each of the widely scattered 34 schools, the grand jury last night adjourned until Monday.
