Buys Indian Land

Indian Land, winner of the 1948 Golden West pace at Santa Anita, sold. for $20,000 at the Indianapolis Speed sales for standardbreds yesterday. The top price of the three-day sale was pald by William W. Erving, Haledon, N, J, to the Castleton Farm of Lexington, Ky. for the big free-for-all pacer. Other sales boosted total sales to $348,490, an average of more than $1000 for each of the 343 horses put on the block. Joe Donlin, one of the season's top 2-year-old trotters, was sold for $13,000 by Sherrier and Palin, Indianapolis, to Castleton Farm.
