CAA Gets Protests On Plane Noise

ulations to correct plane noise in :some places, It now permits shallow turns at an altitude lower than 500 feet If the plane can thereby avoid flying over resi-

dences. 2 No Vacant Area This helps some places. But, in Miami, for instance, there is no vacant land around the airport. Either you disturb this resident or another, as people who live or winter in Cocoanut Grove and Coral Gables can testify. CAA officials say there is no teeth in the law to permit them to stop the noise altogether. CAA’s duty is to regulate for safety.

—No Depression n | DES MOINES, Iowa, Nov, 9 (UP)—A farming magazine reported today few American farmers expect a depression during the next year. . A poll conducted by “Successful Farming” magazine among 6 millon farmers indicated 68 per cent of the ‘group looked forward to continued prosperity for the next year. Thirteen per cent forecast a slump, and 19 per cent had no h OOD. wer. 37 per cent of the farmers predicted a slump before 1953. Forty per cent forecast no depression, while 23 were undecided.
