‘Do-as-Little-as-Possible’ Policy in China Will Be Fateful Blunder, Author Says

Study to Combat Streptococci

By Sclefite Serviee BOSTON, Nov. 11—A vaccine to protect against rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, septic sore throats and other diseases caused by streptococci is now being sought by Army medical sclentists. Their search is part of the allout offensive against the streptococel announced by Maj. Gen. Raymond W. Bliss, Surgeon General of the Army, at the meeting of the American Public Health Association here. Headquarters for this Operation Streptococel will be at Ft. Francis E. Warren, an Air Force technical training center in Wyoming. Success of the Army's Operation Streptococci will mean better health for civilians as well as the armed forces. The rheumatic fever and strep-caused sore throats that plagued training camps in the last war are eommon and dangerous ailments of civilians also. Gen. Bliss stated that significant findings from the Army studies will be made known
