WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 (UP)— A Senate subcommittee today proposed raising the pay of 218 top government officials to help the President get and keep high caliber executives, The suggested raises would hike Cabinet officers from $15,000 to $20,000 a year; undersécretaries to $18,000; and assistant secretaries to $15,000. Undersecretarias now get $10,000 to $12,000 and assistant secretaries $10,000. : Plan Salary Boosts ‘Heads of most independent agencies, boards and commissions, would have their salaries boosted from $15,000 to $18,000.
