A former state prison guard told The Times yesterday he was {prepared to put the finger on a state official who he said accepted a bribe to.obtain paroles for pri|son inmates, In a letter relayed by his attorney. Virgil Barkley of Chester{ton, asked Governor Gates to set the date for the disclosure. The letter said Mr. Barkley decided to take his attorney's -adivice and tell the governor ‘the truth” about the case of Carl R. Todd, convict whose parole was revoked recently. Mr. Barkley and {another guard. William R. Storey, were fired Oct. 1 on charges of trafficking with prisoners and relaying money for attoritrey fees to an Indianapolis lawyer in the Todd case.
