Graveside services and burial for 1st Lt. N=J. Crawford, Army Alr Force, whose body was returned to Indiana from an Alaskan military cemetery, were to ba held at 2 p. m. today in Oak grow Cemetery, Washington, D.
Lt. Crawford was killed in 1945 when his C-54 plane crashed into & mountain near Anchorage, Alaska. He was based at.Alberta as a member of the Alaskan Division, Air Transport Command. The son of Mr, and Mrs. I. N, Crawford, 926 N. Bolton Ave. Lt. Crawford enlisted in. January, 1042, and was commissioned a twin engine instructor at George Field, Ill, in December, 1042. He went to the Alaskan Division the following month. : He was graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1938, and attended Purdue University two years. He was born in Washington, Lt. Crawford is survived by his parents, a sister, Mrs. George M. Gille, St. Louis, and a son, Michael.
