and she’s hateful, spiteful and jealous. She repeats the
“worst about everyone. We can't have f riends without her | becoming sullen and aceusing us of working against her. |
She tells people not to come between her and her family, |
and she feels the family is enough without outsidé interests, All| five sisters-in-law cater to her and are afraid of her. The only
- time there is peace is when we're daing the things she wants us to do.
I was an orphan and then worked; becoming -an assistant to! an office manager, I-quit when I married seven years ago. I was! thrilled about becoming a member of a large family. I try to blame myself for the family trouble because I'm an introvert and because 1 was my. own boss so long: I think maybe I just don’t know how to live in a family unit. This sister-in-law is antagonistic, toward me because I haven't attended a couple of affairs not inter esting me. I want to be friends with her and I've tried. i REALLY DEPRESSED, City. Husband trouble would be worse than sister-in-law trouble, and letting yourself get a bad disposition might bring it. Your | husband can't change his family and he'll resent your expecting | him to do it. He likes to have you overlook his sister's faults and stay pleasant. There is nothing to be gained by being any- | thing ‘but nice. You'll find a great deal of fellowship with the rest. of the family. Don’t talk about the troublesome sister or make an open | break with the family, Keep your friends. Crowd enough recreations into your life that your sister-in-law’s importance will fade into the background.

i : MRS. MANNERS. | Girl Friend Is Bored With Him
MY GIRL friend says she likes me but seems bored no matter what I do. I love her and hate to lose her. Her friends say she loves me but she never acts like it. , CONSTANT CITY READER. Here you go, wanting to change a girl you love. She must like you, too, or you wouldn't be. her boy friend. She's wise | enough not to act like she thinks too much of you. Why don’t ’ you try the same trick on her?
Several of you have asked which States do not require blood tests and waiting periods for securing marriage licenses. - Those states are Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. MRS. MANNERS.

She wishes] his house were her house and his children were their children. - But. she knows that can never be if she’s honest with herself. Even if| they marry later she would think if he went-out once he probably | would go out again, BROADMINDED, City. Married men seem to offer a challenge—but there's plenty of challenge for a girl to keep a single man in love with her if she | realized it: The married man will be replaced in her affections so he can’t be too important. He isn't worth her love or time and he'll cut down on that popularity she loves so well.
