After a reception in the north parlor of the Marott Hotel, the couple left on a wedding trip. The bride wore a gray plaid suit with navy accessories and an orchid corsage. Next Friday they) will be at home in Fostoria, O. Mr. and Mrs. Holloway are graduates of Purdue University. The bride is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Mr. Hol= loway belongs to Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Irene Mieth To Be Wed
At T:30 p. m. Tuesday Miss Irene Mieth and Joseph Winburn will be married in the home of the Rev. Ernest E. Ballard, 1134 Churchman Ave. pastor of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Miss Mieth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Mieth, 1515 Villa Ave. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Uberta, sister and brother-in-law of the bride-to-be, will attend the couple. A reception will be held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Uberta, 750 E. McCarty St.
Education Honorary To Have Conference
Times State Service GREENSBURG, Sept. 24— From 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. tomorrow the Southeast Regional Conference of Delta Kappa Gamma, national educational honorary organization, will meet in Greensburg. Phi Chapter of Greensburg will be host. Other chapters participating are Jeffersonville, Aurora, Seymour and Rushville. The theme of the conference is, “Teaching, a Professional Woman’s Challenge.” The purpose of the all-day meeting is to orient the national and state program with that of the chapters.
Medical Post Gained By Chinese Woman
HARTFORD, Conn.—Dr. PoeEng Yu, a Chinese woman who was a major in the U. 8. Army Medical Corps during World War II, has been named a senior psychiatric physician at the Connecticut State Hospital. A native of Foochow, China, Dr. Yu served at the Cushing General Hospital, Framingham, Mass., where the hospital publication described her as “the first and probably only Chinese woman doctor to be commissioned in the U. 8. Army.” Dr. Yu was graduated from the University of California and the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Following post graduate work at the Henry Phills Psychiatric Clinic of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, she joined the Montefiore Hospital staff, New York.
