the ABC today were unsuccessful when none of the commissioners could be reached.

A suspect who threatened three persons with a knife within an hour last night was captured by his third victim. Klenn Rhoton, 25, of 509 N. East St, said when he went to get into his car in front of his home a man was in it trying to start the motor. “When I asked him what he was doing he drew a knife,” Mr. Rhoton said. “I jumped back and grabbed a stick of wood and struck him as he attempted to run.” Neighbors called: police and when they arrived Mr. Rhoton was holding the prisoner. He gave his name as Shermaa VanDyke, 38, of 605% Dorman St. He was held on a vagrancy

Robert K. Kyle, of Culver, horticulturist and Republican publicist, will show eight varieties of apples and pears grown on his dwarf fruit trees at the Indiana State Fair. This is the first time Mr. Kyle has shown at the State Fair since 1920 when he carried off all honors in Single Comb White Leghorn chickens. At that exhibition he also was the breeder of the grand champion Berkshire boar, which was shown by E. J. Barker, of Thorntown. Mr, Kyle started showing chickens at the State Fair when he was 12 years old. This was before the days of the 4-H classes and he competed against the nation's best breeders.
