Spends Thousands on New Merchandise
The Rose Tire Co., 930 N. Meridian St., has just completed an expansion involving thousands of dollars in added merchandise and several thousand square feet of floor display space. In addition to the’ new permanent displays of nationally known home appliances and kitchen and lawn furniture, wheeled vehicles for children and bicycles for grown-ups; radios, refrigerators, deep freezers, air conditioners, auto goods dnd soon television, the company has installed a new time payment department, welllighted and accessible in the new floor space. Joseph A. Rothbard, president and general manager, who has headed the operation since 1941 when the founder, Arthur E. Rose, was killed in an auto accident, has huilt an organization and equipped his Institution with highdemand merchandise, Morris Rothbard, brother of the president; heads a new wholesaling business, the Western Distributing Co. with offices and sample rooms at 938 N. Meridian, and a company-owned warehouse at 535 N. Capitol ‘Ave. Five salesmen cover the state, two in| the city alone. |
In the executive branch of the
operations Joseph Rothbard is assisted by Edward M. Rose, vice president and brother.of the late founder, and Morris Rothbard, secretary, who took over management of the Rose Tire Co. when Joseph served in the Naval Supply Corps in Saipan, Department heads include A. J. Wald, retail sales; C. J. Hale, budget manager and time payment sales; Lum B. Freeman, manager, tire and battery service; Warren Cross, office manager; Ray Pauok, manager, radio and electrical service, and Harry 8. Joseph, advertising manager. The two firms employ 32 persons and the parent firm has multiplied its sales by ten- since its founding in 1926 at 265 8. Meridian St. The expansion included new fixtures, new “displays of merchandise and increased displays. “Our business is built on making custoniers satisfied with their purchases and the terms: under which they have been made,” said Joseph "Rothbard, “and this interest in our - customers’ convenience extends to our ample concrete-surfaced free parking space.”
