Recently about a hundred Oxford students jumped into the Isis River to prove their devotion fo one Anne, who had been voted their favorite girl friend. Her reaction was more sarcastic’ than romantic, She said, "My heart bleeds for these unfortunate men, but one must not allow personal feelings to divert one from the path of duty.” About. the same time there was that rash of women, led by the Long Island blond, who advertised fof, husbands well supplied with money, to marry them. They said they didn't believe In “love” any more, And now I see where an authority comes out and says that only 56 per cent of mar: riages are for love, and 23 per cent are frankly for security.

It requires absolutely no thought to talk on and on about either subject. That's what makes such conversation so often dull for him. Mama just opens her mouth and out comes all the little details of her day.

So it's wise for a housewife now and then to check up on herself, just to make sure that the house and the, children aren't just about all"she ever talks about to her husband. If she hasn't anything else to talk about, then it's time for her to get interested in other things.
