building there were two principal ideas in mind. One was to have a place where all the horses could be housed in one spot ready

The other idea was to enable officials to keep. a closer watch over the horses and prevent anyone tampering with them. This means greater protection and safeguard for the horses. The first floor of the new building contains 44 stalls. Horses will be brought to the. paddock the morning of the day they are to race and kept there until called to the starting line. 175 Horses May Be Here

A preliminary count indicates there may be as many as 175 horses here to compete for the $134,000 in" purses, the largest amount ever offered at the Indiana Fair, Miller, who expects to make a trip to the Duquoin, Ill, State Fair this week for a final check on the number of Grand Circuit horses that will be shipped here, said: “It looks now as if we'd have to build temporary stables in order to take care of gall the horses.” Although Demon Hanover, winner of the famed Hambletonian, will not race here, virtually all the other top-notch trotters and pacers of the Grand Circuit are expected. Knight Dream Entered

Among the best expected is Knight Dream, a 83-year-old pacer owned by Armstrong and Gray of East Providence, R. I. Knight Dream, winner of the Fox Stake here last year, is entered in the $8000 Horseman's Futurity. The pacer is one of the outstanding threats to reel off 4 mile in less than two minutes having already turned in heats of 2:00 3/5, 2:01 4/5 and 2:02 on the Grand Circuit. So far this year there have been; only two heats run under two ‘minutes in Grand Circuit racing. One of these was 1:59 4/5
