their resentment is a little different because they knew Mr, Roose velt when he was just another of the many Hudson River squires. But one thing is certain. There are still many townfolk in Hyde Park who nurse a malignant dislike for the late President, who for the last three and a half years has been lying under a granite slab at the Roosevelt shrine, two miles south of the village, on the Albany Post road. In January, 1946, when it appeared possible that the United Nations would settle ‘in Hyde k, came to the village to write about the reaction of the - Jiveople.’
