He should take a broad program of study in his undergraduate years—social studies, literature and English—as well as an intensive science course. : * Medical technology is another field open to teeners who can’t afford to spend the money and time required for an MD. This is a career open especially to women who want to do laboratory work. Two years of college plus a year of hospital training is required and the demand for technicians is great. High school graduates are eligible to become technical assistants to researchers, medical ilJustrators and to do stenographic and clerical work connected with medicine. « Four years of college or two years of college plus a year of specialized training is required for medical records librarians. The course costs approximately the same as any college course and admits a trained person into an interesting and much-in-demand job. The salaries range from $3600 to $5000 a year.

Teeners can prepare themselves| :

high chemistry, mathematics and English. Part time or summer jobs open to high school students - include clerical, messenger or laboratory work in any hospital. : Experts in the medical profession say none of these jobs will help in a specific manner, but that they will enable a teen-ager to absorb hospital atmosphere and decide if he is fitted for medicine.
