FT. KNOX, Ky., July 28 (UP) —| The nation's new crop of soldiers may start their army careers on Zurlough, a high-ranking Army officer said here today.

available. Gen. Paul spoke at the opening of a three-day conference of highranking officers, here to adapt to the entire Army policies tried out in the experimental universal military training unit. - The chief of staff, Gen. Omar Bradley, said in reference to the issue of nonsegregation of races in the Army, that “the Army is not out to make any social re-| forms.” Gen .Bradley told the group that “the Army will put men of different races in different companies. It will change that policy when the nation as a whole changes it.” Cites 3 Army Goals Gen, Bradley said the Army had three goals in its handling of the new selective service soldier: ONE. It wants to make soldiers of them so they will see that it was worthwhile for them to leave civilian life for a period. TWO. It wants them to be treated ke human beings and individuals so they will return to civilian life as friends, not enemies, of the Army. THREE. It. wants the soldier to feel physically and mentally improved by his army experience.
