Blind Husband Saves Blind Wife From Fire

LANCASTER, Pa. July 26 (UP)—Blind man John Paige trod a well known path to safety today when flames wrecked his bungalow at Millersville, near here. : In his arms, he carried his blind and invalid wife. After leaving her a safe distance from the burning home, he walked several hundred yards to the home of a neighbor for help. Mrs. Paige was aroused by the smell of smoke, the couple told friends. Strike Is Ended At Local Plant

The four-weeks old strike of 1100 CIO United Auto Workers at the National Malleable and Steel Castings Co. here ended today. Union members agreed at a meeting yesterday to accept an offer of a 10-cent hourly wage increase and return to work immediately. The company recently filed a suit against the union for $20,000 a day damages during the strike on grounds that the union had violated a contract io force. The union originally sought 11 cents an hour wage boost but a contract ' clause stipulated the wage question could be re-opéned in July of next year. Other provisions in the contract are to run
