Police sald an armed bandit robbed a cab Cor of $248, took his ‘taxi and left him at Cold Spring Road .and Road 29: early today. The cab driver, James Payne, 23, of 2409 Kenwood Ave. told| police he picked up two men at North St. and Indiana Ave. After one of his fares got out ‘of the taxi at 25th St. and Northwestern Ave, he said the other man pushed a gun in his back and ordered ‘him to drive north. Mr, Payne said the holdup man commanded ‘him to stop at Cold Spring Road, where he robbed him, then forced him out of the cab and drove off. Police later recovered the abandoned vehicle.
