Truman Likely to Sign Postal Pay Rise Bill

WASHINGTON, July 1 (UP)— More than 1.3 million federal workers today awaited action by| President Trfuman on their payraise bill. Mr. Truman is expected to sign the measure before the deadline —midnight next Monday. Rep. John W. McCormack (R. Mass.) said yesterday the President will sign it reluctantly. The annual raises—$450 for postal employees and $330 for classified civil service workers— will cost nearly $500 million if the bill becomes law. Passage of the measure was largely a vietory for 450,000 postal workers.
