| Alexander Cites Poll To Seed Trade Groups

Times State Service FRENCH LICK, June 24— American business leadership was warned today of the growing preference for government employment rather than private employment. C. D. Alexander, president of the Bemis Bros. Bag Co. of Indianapolis, cited a recent Gallup poll on employment preference in a speech before the American {Seed Trade Association here. | The Gallup poll, Mr. Alexander |said, showed 41 per cent of those polled preferred to work for the government, while only 40 per cent preferred a private employer. | This reflected, he pointed out, on ithe amount of confidence em- | ployees have in their employers today. | He said the basic American {viewpoint had changed. In providing the reason why, he urged his 1400 hearers to look back {about 50 years ago when the | immigration barriers were low|ered which brought a great influx of new inhabitants, particularly from the shores of the Mediterranean. | “In the 1940 census there were 11 million foreign-born and a to-
