‘She Lacns Money Out,
THE INDIANAPOLIS TIMES
But Cuts My Smoking’
MY WIFE MADE me stop smoking because the habit was too expensive. Then she took $800 of our money and loaned it to a roomer so he could buy a new car.. Six years ago I married this woman 11 years younger than I am.. I'm now 52 and she is 41. We sold our farm and have a rooming house. Several times I've caught her messing around with one of the men who stays here. .She says-it did not mean and she loved only me, but then I found out about the loan. I do not like this setup at all and am going to get a divorce. Her brother says I'll have to give them all our property.’ Do you think this is fair? . CITY LANDLORD, She has an enlarged healt of gold, I'll admit, but many Sometimes the instinct erops lonely roomer, in ironing his of the family pie. That isn't loan wasn’t either, who shined my bicycle—because he was gave me a moose head from a hunting jaunt. That was the room with the bed on which several roomers had passed away. (I understand why). The moose head gift wasn’t important, but it did lop off years of my life before I became used to it late at night. My friends grew attached to it as they ed ne cei glider for Shieh thers was no place-in the winter except my room. is % . Your wife loves you. .She doesn’t want a divorce—or the roomer. Now would be a fine time to sink her fangs in the man with him needing money—but she wants you. There you sit, sulking, forgetting the years you've worked together. A fellow who can’t get a carton of cigaréts from a woman $800 is slipping some place. aay you been stingy, and she cut down on your smioking to get even? : ny a should go back to the farm since you object to the tampering of privacy in your home. That brood of chickens may be what your wife needs, but I really think she wants to believe that you need her. See yourself as you really are before you see a lawyer. )
Another ‘Fat, Homely’ Husband I'M WELL acquainted with the girl with the fat, homely husband. In fact I read the letter but I doubt seriously if she recognized it. She didn’t say she just couldn't stand her husband and she didn't say she was good looking. She is a nice. looking girl and a good wife and wonderful mother. If a lot of these fat, homely men tried as hard to look nice and keep up their appearance as we women there would be fewer divorces and a lot happier homes. 2 ‘A DAILY INDIANAPOLIS READER. We're talking about different fat men. The letter I used

Sympathy for Wife Whose Husband Drinks
I'M SORRY, “Steady Reader,” that your husband drinks so much and hope I can help, It takes time and patience and all men don’t react the same. I won over by talking to my husband after he became sober. I tried hinting, at first, but had to be stern, yet not nagging. I brag on him when he doesn’t come in drinking. I take him to the grocery and to pay bills and we figure finances which helped him see that drinking is expensive. I asked him to drink at home and he buys a case of beer and drinks one +bottle when he comes home, sometimes, 80 it lasts three weeks. 5 My husband is easy to reason with and once he makes a protise he‘can pe. relied upon, 1 hope you get results.
