Ruddy, tall, blue-eyed and vigorous, he exemplifies the, able church-execu-tive. Dr. John G. Benson and his other close friends will tell you the bishop has a “genius for administration.” He has gained wide international, as well as national, experience as a clergyman. And it is expected that the wise Methodist denomination will not overlook this. While no definite information is being given out as yet, the grapevine has it that Bishop Lowe is being considered for various posts. He will retire because he is of the legal age to do so. To say that a Methodist bishop looks joyfully forward to retirement would be taking liberty with the truth. Bishop Lowe, for example, will surrender to the new bishop the residence at 4014 N. Pennsylvania St. which is owned by the church. He and his wife, “Edith,” have enjoyed making a heme of the house. Plans Indefinite The Lowes have formulated ro definite plans but the bishop says

He was the youngest of six children and with others of the family worked in the steel mills. 4 : Takes Game Seriously He is business-like in ‘manner, somewhat _resefved but with staunch loyalties. names and faces characterizes the bishop. He is a 33d degree Mason, plays the piano well and sings and also is a “master parliamentarian,” quoting Dr. Benson. While Bishop Lowe does not own a dog at'the moment, the canine residents of his neighborhood know him well and drop in to call and be petted. Served Church in India In 1900, the bishop received his AE degree from Ohio Wesleyan and his MA from there in 1908, He was graduated from. Western Theological Seminary in 1902 and elected bishop 22 years later. He has served pastorates in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska and India and was bishop of the Singapore area from 1924 to 1928. The Lowe daughters are Mrs. Arthur’ A. Turner, Metuchen; N. J, and Mrs. Howard Nealond, Portland, Ore. The bishop is presiding at the Indiana Methodist Conference now in session at Bloomington. Tomorrow, he will ordain a group of young men to follow in his footsteps as ministers of the Methodist Church. It will be an impressive occasion, the last when Titus Lowe will give his blessing 4s an active bishop to fledgling preachers. G ‘
