Rabies Doubles, Doctor Asserts
Rabies among animals in Indiana has doubled between Jan. 1 and Apr. 15 as compared to the same period in 1947, according to Dr.
epidemiologist.
The total number of cases of rabies reported as of Apr. 15 is 230 as compared to 127 for the same period a year ago. “The tragedy of these figures is that we know everything there is to know about the control of rabies,” Dr. Fagan declared, “but still rabies in animals continues to increase in Indiana.”
The lack of control, he pointed out, is caused by ‘the fact that either the people are unacquainted
