That She Loves Me’
«I FOUND MY preparing to leave a man's lap with much haste. Must I be contented with a wife “in name only” and could she have married me for a home? I'm 26 and have been married 14 months to this woman, 24. I work nights, coming home tired at 2 a. m. . 1 spend everything on her and her baby by a former marriage. One night I found my brother-in-law and his wife and his boy-friend drinking and talking with my wife. a There is nothing wrong in that. ' My brother-in-law asked my wife and me to go to their house near us but I refused, saying my wife could go. She got stubborn and wouldn't go but later took the “smokes” the boy-friend left (planned, I hear) to him at my brother-in-law’s house. Well, 40 minutes and two chapters later I laid aside my book and went after my wife, seeing her in his lap in a dim light. There was the usual “you must have been mistaken” routine. 1 grab

loves me. : DISGUSTED. You admit your anger and suspicion. You were ready to beleve anything and the light was faint. Your distrust may have made her so furious that she told you a fabulous tale. 1 know your lap is too tired for wife-holding at 2 a. m. but she needs affection sometime during your hours together. a good provider isn’t enough for a wife, 24. Tell her that you expect her to be faithful and that you love her (you do, don’t you?) and don’t listen to gossip. Night jobs play havoc with marriages of young couples. Can you get a day job? If not, maybe your wife should work during your working hours. She may never be “mad” about you but you can win her love eventually if you want to badly enough and if _.she has any character.

He may be the wrong type ® To her but you aren't sure because you don’t know him well eno! . Sometimes girls like to keep love affairs to themselves, Others get delusions of grandeur and feel that their home and family aren’t elegant enough to display. Make your home and conversation pleasant. Get your daughter interested in her home and family ‘recreation. Make her friends welcome. Don't sniff their breath—boys don’t like that. Go easy on complaints. Your daughter reacts strongly to discipline and might marry just to escape.
