Times Carrier From Jamaica Enjoys Route
——————
Raphael Wainwright is from ton, Jamaica, in the British West Indies—but he already has . a new bike and a newspaper & route, just like a typical American boy. Raphael enjoys being a Times Carrier Salesman very: much. One of his first jobs was to learn to make change in American mo 2 ey, since fore f Raphael coming to Amerjca he had used only pounds, shillings and pence. Raphael is the son of Rev. and Mrs, H. E. Wainwright, 937 Eugene 8t. His father is enrolled in a five-year course at Butler University. While he is in the United States, Raphael intends to make good use of his time to earn his own spending money and also to get the valuable experience in business methods which every Times Carrier Salesman receives. Raphael had a big thrill in coming to the United States as he and his family flew all the way, via Cuba. Like American boys he has many hobbies, including stamp collecting "and drawing.
BOYS!
A Times Carrier Salesman who maintains an average of 50 customers on his route has a profit of $4.25 per week, or $221.00 a year. This is sizable amount of money for hobbies, recreation or. clothing. Why not call Mr. Richard Ballere, City Circulation Manager of The Times, right now!—and ask about route

Planks, laid on “ties” strung from two cables. Crude, indeed-—but nevertheless a suspension bridge!
oF
Full of symbolism, too! Those planks... the Razardous path across some obstacle in life’s course. Those cables . . . faith, supporting our footsteps when there is no foundation beneath.
= L 3

i
There is something else: Those cables are lashed to trees. Faith must always be anchored in something... or Someone.
§28E3e
When you build a cable bridge you lash it not to a reed or & sapling, but to the strongest and surest of trees. When a wise man builds his bridge of life he anchors his faith in GOD.
