City Board Awards &

Gasoline Contract

The City Works Board has awarded a contract for 200,000 gallons of gasoline to Associated Service Corp., 1430 Kentucky Ave. The s bid of 18.8 cents a gallon for regular grade and 19.8 cents a gallon for premium grade gasoline was the lowest received by the board, The contract |covers the second quarter of 1948 during which period the board expects to buy 130,000 gallons of premium grade and 70,000 gallons of regular grade. .

Primary Registration Estimated at 238,000

The Voters’ Registration Board estimated today that total registrations for the May 4 primary have reached about 238,000. This is about 24,000 less than the registration in the spring of the last Presidential election year in 1944, Board Members Irg Butz and Harold N. Fields said. During the present registration period for the primary which ended at midnight last night, a total of 7700 new names and transfers were added to the list.
