White Enters Senate Race

E. Curtis White, former state senator, has announced his can-| didacy for the Democratic nom! nation for that office. He has served two sessions as| a member of the House of Rep-| resentatives in the State Legisla-| ture and eight years in the Sen-|= ate. In his last two sessions he = served as president pro tem and (= Democratic floor leader. Lightning Bolts Prove Old Adage Wrong

EVERETT, Wash., Apr. § (UP) —Residents here today were questioning the old adage that lightning never striking ‘twice in the same place. Two bolts of lightning struck within 30 feet of the home of Mrs. Leon Pattison yesterday. | They blasted out nine windows, shattered her telephone, twisted venetian blinds into melted shreds and burned out much of the electrical wiring in the house.
