Those rescued were Irma Jean Yearwood, 16; Mary Ann Moore, CALL MA. 5554 16; Roy Schmitzer, 19; William Floyd, 11, and John Weatherford, 243 EAST OHIO ST. 14, brother of the drowned boy, all Posey County residents.

Get Your Spring The Schmitzer youth said they {had been cruising through the Permanent {flood waters for about an hour jwhen #0 of the younger boys who had been standing up in the bow sat down suddenly. He said this sent the bow of the boat under water and the craft overturned.

Scream for Help

The five who clung to the overturned boat screamed for help. Eli Lawrence and Morton Byrd, who live nearby, heard them and ran half a mile along the bank until they found another boat.

They rowed down to the site and rescued all five.

The bodies of all the drowned boys were recovered within an hour. Pulmoters were used on the victims without success.
