Chairs were broken, blinds ripped from windows and’ glass, bricks and stones littered the floor. Mr. Hashmall came to Columbus in January from Cleveland. A full-time paid Communist party worker, his job, according to party headquarters in Cleveland, was to organize Red party converts among laborers, high school and college students.

Soviet May Recall Troops in Korea
WASHINGTON, Mar. 31. (UP) —Diplomatic officials saw some reason to believe today that Russia is preparing to withdraw her forces from the Soviet-occupied zone of nothern Korea. They said a withdrawal was suggested by the current trench digging and fortification work just inside the northern zone, obviously’ for ‘the benefit of the Soviet - trained north Korean army, * \ U. 8. diplomatic and military officials have expected Russia to withdraw her forces for some time in an attempt to embarrass the United States. Officials here said a Russian withdrawal would “have no effect on the United States.” Russia proposed to the United States last September that occupation forces of both nations be withdrawn from Korea by Jang 1, 1948, .
