The Archbishop, Priests and Catholic Peog

Extend to All Their Prayerful Wishes

~ for a Joyous Easter

On Easter Day the world commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. His Resurrection was the fulfillment of a’promise, for Jesus had declared: “The Son of Man is to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again.” (Matt. ie 17:21-22.) - This fact that Jesus Christ ame back from the dead by His own power proved in a very dramatic and final way that He is truly God: He reopened Heaven for the human race;

15:3-6.)

In the Easter mystery we have the consoling and joyous . pledge of our own victory over death. If death were the end of all, life would be very discouraging, life would not be worth living. But no! There is resurrection! Even the body of man is not to find pitiable finality in dust and oblivion. The Apostles’ Creed expresses the joy Christ gives us even in the thought of death: “I believe in the resurrection of the body.” .

At the end of the world the body will rise again and will - be united with the soul.

“How do the dead rise? Or with what kind of body do they come?” St. Paul continues: “Senseless man, what thou thyself sowest is not brought to life, unless it dies. And when ' thou sowest, thou dost not sow the body that shall be . . .

mortal body must put on immortality, then shall come to pass the word that is written, ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’.” . (1 Cor. 13.) !

Truly “this is the day the Lord hath made.” (Ps. 117.)
