By BOB STRANAHAN Twenty-five years ago this month Art Beckner was in Indianapolis with a Muncie Bearcat team which lost to Vincennes in the state finals by nine points. Saturday he comes back as coach of another generation of Bearcats, and if there's anything to, that old saw about “everything coming to him who waits,” then Art is overdue for a title. Beckner was one of the most popular athletes ever to come out of Muncie high school, a great guy as a kid and a give-all competitor. It was not surprising, therefore, that Art was contracted to be coach at his high school alma mater even before he finished Indiana University. Raymond.
