Apartment House

Gang Up on Youth Caught in Hall

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Mar, 4 (UP)—It was a real Brannigan in an apartment house here, when occupants ganged up on a 20-

year-old prowler,

‘The prowler, William Scott, came out of it little the worse for

wear, although:

Two milk bottles were broken on his head.

He was soundly thrashed with a stout cane. Here's how it all happened, according to Orville Murray, 26: Mr. Murray was aroused from seep to find the prowler in his

spartment. - With Mr. Murray were his wife and 2-year-old son. Mr. Murray leaped out of bed. He. and the unwelcome visitor wrestled their way into the hall. Mrs, Hazel Albert, living next door, stepped up. She handed Mr. Murray an empty milk bottle. He broke it on Scott's noggin. Mr. Murray reached for another bottle. Mrs. Albert obliged. Again it was shattered on Scott’s head. He didn’t even bat an eye. Mr. Murray reached again. By that time George Robinson arrived to help his neighbors. Mr. Murray swung. He conked Mr. Robinson by mistake and lost an ally. Mr, Robinson went down for the long count. BES hip ey 8 William C. Albert arrived next,

S whacked away enthusiastically. Mr. Scott just kept on fighting. Someone thought to call the police. They took Mr. Scott away. He wasn't even dazed. Someone dosed Mr. Robinson with smelling’salts and he limped back to bed. '- i
