Legion Protests VA Personnel Cut
Indiana department of American Legion today moved to block a reduction in personnel of the | Veterans Administration. In a letter to all Indiana Congressmen and Senators, Harold E. Morris, department commander, protested the reduction “in view of the fact that case loads are increasing day by day.” The communication charged that many ‘non-functional, topbranch and high salaried employees” are being kept on while low-salaried employees “who actually do the work” are being eliminated. The Legionnaires fear a reduction in personnel will seriously affect the efficiency of the VA and work a hardship on thousands of veterans.
